Now that Swiss Days is over, don’t put away your lederhosen and dirndl dresses just yet! Join us for the First Annual Midway Volksmarch, a fundraising walk for trails and open space on Saturday, September 21. A Volksmarch is a festive non-competitive community walk along a designated 5k or 10k route. The Volksmarch route will walk past Midway’s historic homes and barns with signage explaining their history then up Memorial Hill and back down to Town Square for a party in the park. This year’s Volksmarch will honor artist Robert Duncan for his contributions to Midway’s rural preservation efforts.

Participants will meet in Midway Town Square by the Ice Rink and can walk anytime between 9:00 am and noon on Saturday, September 21. The party will end at 2:00. Preregistration is highly encouraged.
